Dick Van Dyke’s Love and Happiness
Overcoming Loss
Dick Van Dyke faced heartbreak after losing his longtime partner, Michelle Triola, to cancer in 2009. Before that, he was married to Margie Willett for 36 years, but their marriage ended due to struggles with addiction and an affair.
Finding Love Again
In 2007, Van Dyke met makeup artist Arlene Silver at an awards show. Despite their 46-year age gap, they formed a deep connection and married in 2012. He once feared judgment, saying, “I thought there would be an outcry about a gold digger marrying an old man, but no one ever took that attitude.”

A Happy Life Together
Silver quickly became part of Van Dyke’s family. Though she initially had doubts, she later said, “I thought… ‘There’s no way that this could ever work,'” but their love proved otherwise. Van Dyke calls her “a gift from the heavens.”
Enjoying Every Moment
At 99, Van Dyke stays active, supported by Silver. “I do my best to care for him and make him happy,” she said. He continues acting, aiming to reach 100 with love, music, and joy in his life.
