John Goodman, 71, recently revealed a drastic 200-pound weight loss, sparking mixed reactions from fans. Some praised his transformation: “Glad he’s taking care of himself,” while others expressed concern: “That’s the scary part. The ‘looking deflated’ part. It’s healthier though.” Some speculated, “It’s called Ozempic,” while others countered, “He stopped drinking. It wasn’t Ozempic.”
Goodman’s health journey began in 2007 when he quit drinking, a turning point that led to a complete lifestyle change. “It was like turning myself in to the Gestapo,” he joked about asking his wife for help. He adopted a Mediterranean diet, emphasizing fish, nuts, olive oil, vegetables, and fruit. Exercise became a priority, including 10,000-12,000 steps daily, boxing, and dog walks.

At his heaviest, Goodman weighed nearly 400 pounds and struggled with weight fluctuations. “Then, this time, I wanted to do it slowly, move, exercise. I’m getting to the age where I can’t afford to sit still anymore,” he explained.
With a dedicated personal trainer and a sustainable plan, Goodman has maintained his weight loss. Fans continue to support his journey, celebrating his healthier lifestyle and 16 years of sobriety.
