Black Couple Fosters a Boy No One Wanted to Adopt, Learning Love Has No Color

After years in foster care, 12-year-old Andrew finally found his forever home with his best friend’s family in Tennessee. Kevin and Dominique Gill welcomed Andrew after his siblings were adopted, leaving him waiting for a family. Despite a rough start where Andrew was withdrawn, the Gills didn’t give up on him. Their son, Joc, bonded with Andrew over video games and snacks, cementing their friendship.

When Andrew’s second adoption fell through, the Gills knew he belonged with them. They surprised him in the park, asking if he wanted to join their family, to which he eagerly agreed. Despite initial fears due to Andrew’s past, the Gills embraced him, emphasizing that “love doesn’t have a color.” Andrew became an integral part of their family, just like Joc. Their story shows that love knows no boundaries.
