Boy, 14, Dies After ‘Injecting Himself With Butterfly’ In Horror ‘Online Challenge’

A 14-year-old Brazilian boy, Davi Nunes Moreira, tragically died after injecting himself with a solution made from a crushed butterfly. The incident, believed to be part of an online challenge, led to a painful seven-day battle in the hospital before his passing.

Mysterious Symptoms and Admission

Initially, Davi told his father he was injured while playing. However, as his condition worsened, he admitted to injecting the butterfly mixture. Shortly after the injection, he began vomiting and developed a limp. His father later discovered the syringe under the boy’s pillow.

Medical and Investigative Findings

Doctors attempted to save Davi but were unsuccessful. Dr. Luiz Fernando D. Relva suggested the cause could be “an embolism, an infection, or an allergic reaction.” Investigators suspect septic shock due to toxins in the mix.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities have not confirmed if an online trend influenced Davi. A spokesperson stated, “The autopsy results will help clarify the cause of death.” Butterfly expert Professor Marcelo Duarte noted, “The fluids present in their bodies have not been studied in depth for human toxicity.”
