Obama Portrait Replaced by Trump Painting in White House
The White House has replaced Barack Obama’s official portrait with a dramatic painting of Donald Trump during last year’s assassination attempt. The new artwork, showing Trump with a bloodied face and fist raised, now hangs prominently in the Grand Foyer. Obama’s portrait was relocated across the hall, replacing George W. Bush’s, which was moved near his father’s.
Public Reactions Spark Debate
The painting’s unveiling on social media sparked mixed reactions. One user asked, “Is it serious?” while another commented, “This gives super North Korea vibes that isn’t funny.” Many were upset by the violent image now taking center stage in the presidential residence.
The Assassination Attempt
In July 2024, Trump was grazed by a bullet at a rally in Pennsylvania. He recalled, “I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin.” Video shows him wounded but raising his fist and yelling “Fight! Fight!” before being escorted offstage.
Ongoing FBI Investigation
The FBI continues to investigate the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, as a potential domestic terrorist. Over 100 interviews and searches have been conducted, but the motive remains unclear. The firearm was legally purchased, and Crooks wasn’t previously known to the FBI.
