Blue Origin is launching its 11th human mission, NS-31, on April 14, 2025 — but this flight is historic: it features an all-female crew, the first since 1963. Six trailblazing women from science, media, music, and activism are making history as they cross the Kármán line together.
Meet the Crew
Rocket scientist Aisha Bowe will become the first Bahamian in space. She’s bringing student postcards and running experiments in plant growth and human biology. Civil rights advocate and Harvard graduate Amanda Nguyễn will be the first Southeast Asian woman in space. “Science can bring understanding and unity between nations,” she said.
Famous Faces on Board
Gayle King, veteran journalist, called the journey “a bold step into the unknown.” Pop icon Katy Perry, who long dreamed of spaceflight, said: “I was like, What am I going to wear? I have wanted to go to space for almost 20 years.”
The Vision Behind the Mission
Lauren Sánchez, who organized the mission, said: “All of these women are storytellers… They’re going to go up to space and be able to spread what they felt in different ways.”
The 11-minute flight aims to inspire — showing that space truly belongs to everyone.
