Tragic Loss Sparks Legal Action
The parents of 11-year-old Louis Johnson III (LJ) are suing the Marion County School Board for wrongful death, alleging their son was relentlessly bullied by his fifth-grade teacher at Legacy Elementary in Ocala, Florida. LJ died by suicide on April 27, 2023, after months of reported emotional abuse.
Allegations Against Teacher Donna White
Court documents claim teacher Donna White “constantly, consistently and relentlessly publicly humiliated minor child [LJ] in front of his peers” and even encouraged classmates to ridicule him, calling him “stupid.” Students later testified she mocked children openly, causing emotional distress.

School Response and Investigation
Despite early complaints from the parents, the school board allegedly failed to act. After LJ’s death, the school distributed suicide prevention flyers and launched an internal investigation. As a result, White’s contract was not renewed.
Family’s Mission for Justice
On a GoFundMe page, the family wrote: “LJ was… full of potential and promise… He gave up his fight and took his own life.” They seek justice, awareness, and support in his memory.
