Cops confirm intended ‘bomb attack’ at Lady Gaga concert with crowd of two million yesterday

Massive Crowd, Massive Risk
Lady Gaga performed her biggest show ever on May 3 at Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro, with over 2.1 million fans attending the free concert. The event was part of her global “Mayhem” tour.

Attack Prevented Just in Time
Rio’s Civil Police revealed it stopped a planned bomb attack targeting the concert. “The person responsible for the plan was arrested, and a teenager was detained,” police shared on Twitter. Authorities acted after intelligence flagged online chatter involving extremist symbols and coded language.

Coordinated Operation Across Brazil
In a joint effort with the Ministry of Justice, police conducted searches across multiple cities. Arrests included a man with a firearm believed to be the group’s leader and a teenager found with illicit images. The attackers reportedly aimed to gain social media notoriety through violent acts.

Strong Security, Safe Outcome
The successful operation prevented tragedy, ensuring Gaga’s long-awaited return to Brazil—her first since 2012—remained a celebration, not a catastrophe.

Stay safe, stay aware.
