Larissa Rodrigues, a 37-year-old Pilates instructor, was found dead in her Ribeirão Preto apartment on March 22, 2025. Her husband, Dr. Luís Antônio Garnica, claimed to have found her unresponsive, but a toxicology report revealed poisoning with “chumbinho.”

Police suspect Rodrigues was slowly poisoned over time. She had discovered Garnica’s affair and told friends she felt watched and feared leaving the relationship. Garnica allegedly tracked her movements and emotionally abused her. His mother, Elizabete Arrabaça, was also arrested for her involvement.

The day Rodrigues died, she was reportedly given soup and medication by her husband and mother-in-law. Authorities are now also investigating the suspicious death of Garnica’s sister.

Rodrigues’s workplace paid tribute, calling her a “dedicated professional” and “admired by all.” Her tragic death has left friends and her community grieving deeply.

This heartbreaking case is still under investigation, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward as they seek justice for Larissa.
