Former President Joe Biden has confirmed he’s been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer. A statement from his office read: “Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.”

Despite the severity, Biden’s team noted the cancer is hormone-sensitive, making it more manageable. “The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.”

Biden shared a photo of himself, Jill, and their cat on X, writing: “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.”

Donald Trump responded via Truth Social: “Melania and I are saddened… We wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”

Prostate cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death among men in the U.S.
