Tourists are canceling trips after ‘new Baba Vanga’ predicts catastrophic event that will take place in just two months

A Japanese woman dubbed “Japan’s Baba Vanga” is making headlines with a grim prophecy for July 2025, prompting many to cancel travel plans.

Ryo Tatsuki, a manga artist known for her eerie predictions, released The Future I Saw in 1999. The book accurately foresaw events like the 2011 Japan tsunami and Freddie Mercury’s death. Now, she warns of a catastrophic event on July 5, 2025.

“A crack will open up under the seabed between Japan and the Philippines, sending ashore waves three times as tall as those from the Tohoku earthquake,” Tatsuki wrote.

Her book also describes the ocean “boiling,” which many interpret as a sign of a possible underwater volcanic eruption.

Following the warning, travel agency WWPKG reported a 50% drop in Easter bookings to Japan, with further declines expected. Concerns grew when the Chinese embassy in Tokyo issued a disaster alert last month, urging visitors to take extra precautions.

Whether or not the prediction comes true, fear has already made an impact—Japan-bound travelers are thinking twice.
