Comedian and Daily Show host Jon Stewart has made a grim prediction about how Donald Trump’s second presidency might end—suggesting he could “burn the country down for insurance money.”
Speaking on The Bill Simmons Podcast, Stewart criticized Trump’s actions since returning to office in January 2029. Trump has signed controversial executive orders, including one renaming the Gulf of Mexico and another dismantling the Department of Education.
Stewart also blasted Trump’s $20 billion lawsuit against CBS News, accusing the network of election interference. “All must pay tribute to the king,” Stewart said, warning about growing media suppression. He added, “It doesn’t rise to the level of libel… it’s a purely subjective editorial decision.”
He later asked, “So ultimately… does Trump burn our f***** country down for insurance money? Like where are we headed?”
As Trump marked 100 days in office, Stewart mocked him: “Trump’s first 100 days is like if America landed on the moon and killed Bin Laden in the same mission!”
Stewart’s remarks spark deeper concerns over media freedom and democracy under Trump’s leadership.
