A British family is demanding answers after 28-year-old Beth Martin died suddenly on a trip to Turkey—and her body was returned to the UK allegedly without her heart.
Beth, from Portsmouth, traveled to Istanbul with her husband Luke and their two children. She felt sick on the flight and was rushed to a hospital just hours after arriving. The next day, she passed away. Her family claims they were given little information and that Luke was forced to sign a document without understanding it, later learning it confirmed Beth’s death.
A GoFundMe page alleges medical staff ignored Beth’s penicillin allergy and even accused Luke of poisoning her. Shockingly, when her body arrived back in the UK, coroners reportedly discovered her heart was missing.
Turkish officials stated she died of cardiac arrest caused by organ failure and denied any organs were removed. A medical negligence investigation is underway, and a UK autopsy could take six months.
Beth’s family says they are living through “the deepest level of trauma.” Over £255,000 has been raised to help cover expenses and seek justice.
