Stephen Hawking had very simple answer when asked if he believed in God

Stephen Hawking, known for his brilliant mind in physics and cosmology, had a surprisingly simple view on the existence of God. Despite the long-standing debate between science and religion, Hawking leaned on logic and scientific laws to explain the universe.

In his book Brief Answers to the Big Questions, he wrote: “The simplest explanation is there is no God. No one created the universe and no one directs our fate.” Instead, he believed in the power of natural laws, noting that calling them “the work of God” is more a definition than evidence.

Diagnosed with ALS at 21, Hawking faced life’s challenges head-on. He often found meaning in curiosity and the beauty of the cosmos. “We have this one life to appreciate the grand design of the universe,” he wrote, “and for that I am extremely grateful.”

In another interview, he summed it up clearly: “There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers; that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark.”

His message? Stay curious, look up, and never stop wondering.
