Trump gives surprising response when asked if he’d pardon Diddy if convicted in current sex trafficking trial

Former President Donald Trump has addressed whether he would consider pardoning rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently facing serious criminal charges. Diddy, 55, stands accused of racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion—charges he has denied, pleading not guilty.

During a press conference on May 30, Trump was asked if he’d offer a pardon. He didn’t rule it out, saying, “Nobody’s asked, but I know people are thinking about it.” He added that he hadn’t been closely following the case but would review the facts before making any decision.

Trump also reflected on his past friendship with Diddy. He recalled how the rapper once admired him, but said their relationship may have soured after Trump entered politics. “He used to really like me, but I read some not-so-nice things after I ran,” Trump remarked.

Despite any personal history, Trump emphasized he’d base any pardon on fairness. “If I think someone was mistreated, whether they like me or not, that wouldn’t affect my decision,” he said.
