British tourist who went missing in Thailand found on life support fighting for his life

Ashton Jones, 29, vanished during a night out in Bangkok just five days into his trip. The British tourist, who has epilepsy, was later discovered unconscious in Chonburi Hospital, where he underwent emergency brain surgery. Doctors suspect he was violently attacked.

His family, unaware of his condition for days, were left devastated when they learned he was on life support. Since Ashton had no travel insurance, his loved ones are now desperately raising funds to cover medical costs and bring him home to the UK.

His grandmother, Beverly Walker, launched a GoFundMe, saying, “Without immediate financial or diplomatic assistance, my grandson may not survive.” She added that Ashton is now awake but bed-bound, suffering seizures, and unable to talk, eat, or recognize his surroundings.

The family hopes to raise £50,000 to cover expenses. “We’ve spent our life savings, but we can’t afford to get him back,” Beverly said. A UK Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed they are offering support and are in contact with local authorities.
