‘It’s a Lot More Complicated than People Realize’: Mom of Two Opens up About Using Ozempic for a Year Due to Illness

Natasha Robinson, a 37-year-old mom from Dallas, didn’t turn to Ozempic for quick weight loss. After struggling with insulin resistance and high inflammation despite medication, she and her doctor chose Ozempic to help her body use insulin properly.

Starting in January 2022, Natasha gave herself weekly injections, despite a fear of needles. Early side effects like nausea and fatigue were tough, but she found ways to manage them. Within months, she noticed physical changes — sharper cheekbones and weight loss — but emphasized this wasn’t her goal.

By month ten, she had lost over 50 pounds, and her lab results showed major improvements in glucose and inflammation. Yet the medication’s cost worried her — with insurance and coupons, it was affordable, but the full price could top $1,000 monthly.

Natasha now uses social media to show that Ozempic is more than a celebrity trend. “Sometimes it’s a lot more complicated than people realize,” she says. By sharing her honest experience, she hopes others feel less alone when managing chronic conditions.
