A tragic accident has shaken the Palmerston community after three-year-old Dion drowned while trying to collect his toys. On June 14, emergency services rushed to his home near Darwin, Australia, but despite CPR efforts, Dion couldn’t be saved. Police confirmed it was an accidental drowning.
Dion’s family remembers him as a joyful, adventurous boy with an “infectious laugh” who adored his baby brother. His aunt Lizzie shared, “Any room he walked into he made people smile and laugh.” A GoFundMe has been set up to help cover his funeral costs.

Sadly, Dion’s story mirrors another heartbreak. In the US, three-year-old Trigg Kiser, son of TikTok influencer Emilie Kiser, drowned in May. Despite quick emergency response and hospital care, Trigg passed away days later, devastating his family and followers.
These losses highlight the danger of backyard pools and remind parents to stay vigilant. Communities in Australia and the US mourn these little lives gone too soon and rally around their grieving families.
