Tensions in the Middle East have escalated quickly after Iran launched missiles at US air bases in Qatar and Iraq. This attack came in response to President Trump’s recent bombing of Iran’s major nuclear sites, which he called a “success” that “completely obliterated” Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.
Iran had warned it would retaliate. On June 23, it targeted Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar—home to about 10,000 US troops—and Iraq’s Ain al-Asad base. Qatari defences intercepted the missiles, and no casualties were reported. The US embassy urged Americans in Qatar to shelter in place.
Iran’s armed forces confirmed the missile operation, calling it “devastating and powerful.” President Masoud Pezeshkian stated, “We neither initiated the war nor seek it. But we will not leave invasion… without answer.”
Meanwhile, Israel has also struck sites in Tehran, promising more attacks in the coming days. President Trump hinted at possible regime change in Iran, fueling fears of a wider conflict. The situation remains tense as the world watches.
