Tensions between Iran and the US have erupted after Iran fired missiles at American bases in Qatar. This came days after President Trump ordered strikes on Iran’s key nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—calling the mission a “very successful attack” and praising US troops as unmatched warriors.

Despite Trump’s warning that “ANY RETALIATION… WILL BE MET WITH FORCE FAR GREATER,” Iran responded on June 23 by targeting the Ain al-Asad Air Base in Qatar, the largest US base in the region with around 10,000 troops. Qatari officials confirmed their air defenses intercepted the missiles and reported no casualties.

Trump’s team assured the public they are “closely monitoring” threats as the president met with his national security team. Qatar’s Foreign Ministry also confirmed the attack was blocked and civilians remained safe.

Iran claimed its missile strike matched the scale of the US bombings and specifically chose bases far from civilian areas. With both sides standing firm, the crisis threatens to escalate further.
