In 1984, newborn Jon Scarlett-Phillips was found abandoned in a plastic bag in a car park near Milton Keynes, UK. Wrapped in a blanket with his placenta still attached, he was discovered by three teenage girls who saved his life. “I’m very grateful they heard me and found me,” Jon said.

Jon was adopted by a caring couple, John and Marilyn, and raised alongside his sister Debbie. Though happy, he always wondered why he was abandoned. After facing personal struggles and a near-fatal overdose at 18, Jon credits his wife Becky for helping him recover and inspiring him to search for answers.
With help from ITV’s Long Lost Family, Jon discovered his birth mother was just 20 when she had him. Though she wasn’t ready to meet, she sent a heartfelt message. “It’s not a no, Jon. It’s just time,” his half-sister read aloud.
Jon met his two half-sisters in an emotional moment captured on film. “That emptiness has disappeared completely now. I’m a happy man,” he shared.
