Sean “Diddy” Combs has been denied bail after a New York jury found him guilty on two of five charges related to prostitution and sex trafficking. Judge Arun Subramanian cited Combs’ history of violence in his decision to keep the rapper in custody. His sentencing is set for October 3.

The guilty verdicts were for transporting individuals, including alleged victims Cassie Ventura and “Jane,” to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious charges, including two counts of sex trafficking by force and racketeering conspiracy.

In court, Diddy appeared emotional—clasping his hands and nodding during the verdict. He reportedly made prayer hands when the judge asked if he wished to avoid returning to the Metropolitan Detention Center.

Cassie’s legal team responded to the outcome, highlighting her courage in speaking out. “She paved the way for a jury to find him guilty,” her attorney said. Though Diddy avoided convictions on the most serious charges, the guilty verdicts mark a major turn in a long and controversial legal battle.
