During a 400m hurdles race in Czechia, 24-year-old US sprinter Chris Robinson suffered an unexpected wardrobe malfunction — his genitals accidentally became exposed mid-run. Despite several attempts to fix the issue, he powered through and impressively won the race with a time of 48.05 seconds.
Robinson’s bold perseverance didn’t go unnoticed. Underwear brand Shinesty reached out with an offer to model their Magnum Pouch Ball Hammock, known for its extra-large front pocket. Another brand, Krakatoa, also showed interest, with CEO Alex Bortoluzzi noting: “We have a special pouch in front, to keep things separated, and not slapping around.”
Commentators praised Robinson’s resilience. One said: “That was a stunning effort… very nearly a personal best with those adjustments going on.” World Athletics’ Tim Hutchings added: “He was having an equipment failure… that’s probably the politest way to put it.”
Though the incident was unintentional, it may have launched Robinson into a surprising second career — in men’s underwear modeling.
