Shocking new details have surfaced months after Jessica Lyman, 44, and her son Eli Painter, 8, were found dead in their Saratoga Springs home on March 28, 2025. Recently unsealed search warrants have revealed disturbing clues suggesting the double homicide may have involved someone close to them.
Teen Son’s Troubling Messages & Evidence
Investigators discovered unsettling text messages sent by Lyman’s 15-year-old son in the weeks before the murders. Messages included phrases like, “Do you know how insignificant you are?” and “I wish I died in your stomach.” Though no one has been officially charged, suspicions have grown based on evidence collected from the teen’s room, including BB guns, tactical gear, and handwritten notes referencing murder and forensic science.

Jessica was found critically injured next to Eli, who had been fatally shot. She passed away two days later. Investigators also located her intimate clothing in her son’s room and identified biological material at the scene.
Surveillance Footage and Ongoing Search for Justice
Footage from a neighbor’s camera shows someone wearing a white mask moving near the home around 2:30 a.m. on the night of the tragedy.
While the investigation is still active, Jessica’s family continues to seek justice. Fundraisers remain open to support her surviving children and Eli’s father. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Saratoga Springs Police.
