A quiet evening in Lake George, New York, ended in tragedy after 9-year-old Melina Frattolin was reported missing by her father, Luciano Frattolin, on July 19, 2025. Authorities confirmed days later that Melina was found dead in Ticonderoga. The New York State Police have now taken over the case.
Investigators noted inconsistencies in the father’s account and stated there was no evidence of an abduction. “The PBA of New York State is extremely saddened to learn of the death of Melina Galanis Frattolin,” said PBA President James McCartney. A Department of Environmental Conservation Officer found her body during a grid search.

The case has sparked emotional reactions online, with many demanding answers and justice. Messages such as, “My heart as a mom truly breaks. RIP sweet angel,” highlight the deep sorrow felt by the public.
Luciano, a Canadian entrepreneur and founder of Gambella Coffee, remains at the center of the investigation. Authorities are continuing their inquiries, with updates expected in the coming days.
