A viral video from a Coldplay concert has led to the resignation of Astronomer CEO Andy Byron. Filmed at Gillette Stadium, the clip showed Byron embracing Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot, sparking speculation about an affair. Coldplay’s Chris Martin even commented mid-performance, saying, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just really shy.”
Byron, who is married, appeared flustered as the camera zoomed in. The moment exploded online, and many misidentified a smiling woman in the video as Alyssa Stoddard, Cabot’s colleague. However, Astronomer confirmed: “Stoddard wasn’t at the concert.”
The company responded swiftly, stating: “Our leaders are expected to set the standard… Andy Byron has tendered his resignation.” Pete DeJoy, co-founder and Chief Product Officer, is now interim CEO.
Despite the viral attention, Astronomer says it remains focused on serving customers in the data and AI space.
