Audrey Crews, 36, from Louisiana, has regained a major ability for the first time in 20 years thanks to Elon Musk’s Neuralink. Audrey was paralyzed in a car crash at age 16, losing all movement and feeling in her arms and legs after damaging her C4 and C5 vertebrae.

Now, after receiving the Neuralink brain chip, Audrey can control a computer using only her thoughts. “It was brain surgery. They drilled a hole in my skull and placed 128 threads into my motor cortex,” she shared on X. She posted drawings of her name and a cat named Ellie using just her mind.

Audrey added, “The implant won’t help me walk, but it lets me control electronics. I’m the first woman in the world to do this.” Elon Musk responded, “She is controlling her computer just by thinking. Most people don’t realize this is possible.”

Neuralink aims to help people with severe neurological conditions, including ALS, strokes, and spinal injuries, regain communication through brain-computer interface technology.
