Christian Bale and his wife, Sibi Blažić, were seen arriving at LAX after a trip to New York. The longtime couple, both dressed in simple black tops and jeans, stayed close as they made their way down the escalator. Bale, 50, is still wearing the shaved head he adopted for his role in The Bride, the upcoming film directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal.

The pair have been together for more than two decades. They met in the mid-1990s through Winona Ryder, who was working with Bale on Little Women. Sibi was Ryder’s assistant, and the connection between them grew quickly. They eloped in 2000 and later welcomed two children, Emmeline and James.

Bale has often spoken warmly about his wife’s influence on his life and work. During his 2019 Golden Globes speech, he thanked her for steadying him and joked that she helps him avoid saying “the wrong thing” in public. He also shared the playful nicknames they use for their children, calling them Banana and Burrito.

Known for extreme physical transformations in films such as The Machinist, Bale has credited Sibi with supporting him through the demands of Method acting. He has even joked that she preferred certain characters to his real-life self.
