Mercedes and Jonathan Sandhu weren’t planning on more kids when they discovered she was pregnant. Expecting their third, they skipped the early ultrasound—until a shocking seven-week scan revealed not one, but four identical babies. “Holy moly!” they both exclaimed.
Identical quadruplets are extremely rare—occurring in just 1 in 15 million pregnancies. On May 1, 2024, at just under 30 weeks, Mercedes delivered four healthy girls: Hannah, Lucy, Rebecca, and Petra. “I was just relieved once I could hear their little cries,” she said.
Though born prematurely, all four girls thrived in the NICU and are now growing steadily. “We have more babies than we have hands,” Jonathan joked. The family of eight now shares their story online, where their daughters’ striking resemblance sparks awe and joy.
