Arnold Schwarzenegger believes Heaven is a ‘fantasy’, says: ‘We won’t see each other again after we’re gone’

In a bold conversation with Danny DeVito for Interview Magazine, Arnold Schwarzenegger shared his skeptical views on the afterlife, calling heaven a “fantasy.”

Now 77, the Terminator star responded bluntly when asked what happens after death: “Nothing. You’re six feet under. Anyone that tells you something else is a f**ing liar.”* He added, “We won’t see each other again like this. That’s the sad part.”

Schwarzenegger, who was raised Catholic, acknowledged the comfort many find in believing they’ll reunite with loved ones in heaven but said, “To me, heaven is where I keep people I love—in my mind’s front row.”

His comments stirred debate online. Some praised his honesty, while others questioned his certainty or criticized his views.

Despite his disbelief in an afterlife, Schwarzenegger still believes in living for a greater cause. Reflecting on his Catholic upbringing, he said, “What we need…is a public servant’s heart.”

Schwarzenegger’s words challenge comforting traditions, urging reflection on mortality, legacy, and how we honor those we’ve lost.
