Arturo Gatti Jr Has Died Aged 17

The boxing world is heartbroken after the sudden death of Arturo Gatti Jr, just 17 years old. The son of Canadian boxing legend Arturo Gatti was found dead in Mexico on Tuesday, leaving fans and friends in deep shock.

Tributes poured in from around the globe. Former world champion Jean Pascal wrote, “Sixteen years after losing his father, the world loses another Gatti. Both gone too soon.” Gatti Jr’s longtime coach, Moe Latif, confirmed the tragic news, saying, “It’s not a rumor or a joke. Arturo is gone.”

From the age of six, Gatti Jr dreamed of following his father’s footsteps into boxing greatness. Known for his fierce spirit, he trained hard and even caught the attention of Mike Tyson. “I have the same warrior side as him,” he once said proudly about his dad.

Just weeks before his death, Gatti Jr posted an image of himself standing beside his late father — both wearing boxing gloves. That haunting picture now feels like a farewell. His passing is a painful reminder that even the brightest legacies can end far too soon.
