Over 100 people have died in Texas after flash floods struck during the July 4th weekend. Heavy rainfall caused the Guadalupe River near Kerrville to swell to 26 feet, sweeping away homes and vehicles.
Brooke, 11, and Blair Harber, 13, were staying with their grandparents when the floods hit. Their aunt, Jennifer Harber, revealed, “My brother and his wife Annie identified the bodies… about 12 hours after the flood started.” The girls were found 15 miles away—heartbreakingly, still holding hands.

The girls’ grandparents, Mike and Charlene Harber, remain missing. “Prayers are needed so we can bring them home,” Jennifer wrote on GoFundMe.
St. Rita Catholic School, where the sisters studied, stated, “Even in their last moments, they held tightly to each other… a powerful symbol of their lasting bond.” The school vowed to support the Harber family through this tragedy. A GoFundMe page has been created to assist the grieving family.
