Donald Trump to ‘run Venezuela’ as President Maduro charged with drug and weapons offences

Donald Trump announced today that the United States will temporarily manage Venezuela following a major military operation. Speaking from Mar-a-Lago, the President confirmed that a U.S. “large-scale strike” successfully captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.

The couple has been flown to American soil to face serious legal trouble. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed that Maduro is charged with narco-terrorism, cocaine importation, and weapons offenses. She promised the pair would face the “full wrath of American justice.”

Trump explained that the U.S. will govern the country until a “safe and proper” transition of power occurs. He emphasized that this step aims to secure peace and liberty for the Venezuelan people. Additionally, he noted plans for American oil companies to invest billions to help boost the local economy.

While Trump stated the U.S. is ready for further military action if needed, he believes the initial mission’s success makes that unlikely. Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer clarified that Britain played no role in the operation. In Venezuela, local officials are currently urging citizens to remain calm.

JoJo Siwa clarifies comments about her sexuality after realising ‘she’s not a lesbian’ on CBB

JoJo Siwa is setting the record straight regarding her sexuality after sparking a global debate during her time on Celebrity Big Brother. The 21-year-old star recently surprised viewers when she told housemate Danny Beard that she had realized she “wasn’t a lesbian” and instead identifies as “queer.”

Now, Siwa admits she is “flabbergasted” by the intense reaction to what she thought was a casual, private conversation. Speaking to Us Magazine, the “Karma” singer explained that she simply doesn’t want to be placed in a box anymore. She noted that because she has dated non-binary partners, using the strict label of “lesbian” felt inaccurate. For her, “queer” serves as a beautiful umbrella term that better reflects the fluidity of the spectrum.

Despite the scrutiny, Siwa views the situation positively. She believes the discussion highlights “queer joy” and insists her journey is nothing to be ashamed of. However, she was quick to shut down rumors that her identity shift signaled an attraction to her co-star, Chris Hughes. Siwa laughed off the speculation about their platonic friendship, telling critics they were “reaching” for drama where there is none.

Ultimately, Siwa remains confident in her evolving identity, emphasizing that sexuality is a spectrum and her experiences are valid.

Why Marlo Thomas Refused to Become ‘Mom’ of Phil Donahue’s 5 Kids – What Do They Look Like?

Marlo Thomas spent years insisting marriage wasn’t for her, once joking it felt like “living with a jailer you have to please.” In her 2020 book, What Makes a Marriage Last: 40 Celebrated Couples Share with Us the Secrets to a Happy Life, co-written with Phil Donahue, she admitted marriage didn’t seem “roomy enough” for her—until she met him.

Donahue, the creator and host of The Phil Donahue Show, was already a father of five when they married on May 21, 1980. Thomas, then 42 and child-free, suddenly became a stepmother. From day one, she says she chose not to replace their mother, but to build friendships with the children instead—using her own upbringing as a guide, since her mother was also a trusted friend.

Their partnership lasted more than four decades, ending when Donahue died on August 18, 2024, at age 88. As Thomas mourns, she has spoken about the blended family they built and the strong bonds that still hold it together.

Donahue’s five children—Michael, Kevin, Daniel, Mary Rose, and James—were born during his first marriage to Margaret Cooney, whom he married in 1958 before they divorced in 1975. James “Jim” Donahue later died on August 11, 2014, at 51, from an aortic aneurysm.

Over the years, Thomas has shared family moments publicly, highlighting a close, supportive relationship that deepened with time.

Alfonso Ribeiro Is a Doting Dad of 4 From 2 Marriages: The Eldest Is an Actress, and the Youngest Is Mom’s Mini-Me — Photos

Alfonso Ribeiro may be best known as Carlton Banks from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, but at home, he’s simply Dad. Now 54, the actor and TV host is raising four children from two marriages, and he often shares snapshots of their close-knit blended family. His kids range in age from six to 23, and each brings a different spark to the household.

His oldest is Sienna Michele Ribeiro, born October 7, 2002, to Ribeiro and actress Robin Stapler, whom he met on the set of In the House. The couple later divorced in August 2006, but shared joint custody and continued supporting Sienna as she pursued acting. Her credits include appearances on NCIS, the 2022 thriller Deadly Cheers, and The Lightning Code (2025).

Ribeiro found love again with Angela Unkrich. He proposed in 2012 at Lake Tahoe, with friends—and Sienna—nearby, later calling it the greatest day of his life. They married in October 2012 and welcomed three children: Alfonso “AJ” Ribeiro Jr. (born October 27, 2013), Anders Reyn Ribeiro (born April 30, 2015), and Ava Sue Ribeiro (born May 12, 2019).

Angela frequently posts heartfelt tributes describing AJ as thoughtful and gentle, Anders as curious with a smile that lights up a room, and Ava as bold, imaginative, and full of personality. Together, the Ribeiros show how a blended family can thrive on warmth, support, and showing up for one another.

Man Made Death Row Meal Request So Controversial That No One In Texas Gets One Anymore

Texas no longer lets death row inmates choose a special last meal, and the change traces back to one prisoner’s highly controversial request.

In many US states, people facing execution are offered a “last meal,” but the practice isn’t guaranteed by law and differs widely. Some places set price caps or limit menu items, while others have ended the tradition altogether. Still, last meals have long drawn public attention for their symbolism and sometimes extravagant orders.

In Texas, the turning point was Lawrence Russell Brewer, a white supremacist convicted in the 1998 murder of James Byrd Jr. Brewer and others beat Byrd, abused him, and dragged him for three miles behind a pick-up truck. The killing shocked the nation and later helped fuel tougher hate-crime legislation, including the James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Act passed in 2009.

Before Brewer’s execution in 2011, he submitted an unusually large last-meal order. Reports said it included multiple dishes—ranging from chicken steaks and fried okra to a bacon cheeseburger, fajitas, barbecue, ice cream, and desserts—along with root beers. Prison staff reportedly provided the meal, but Brewer refused to eat any of it, saying he wasn’t hungry.

After that, Texas senator John Whitmire pushed to end the state’s long-running last-meal tradition, calling it an inappropriate privilege. Since then, inmates on Texas death row no longer receive a special, made-to-order final meal.

This Little Boy Grew Up To Be One Of The Most Famous Actors In The World

An ordinary school photo shows a young boy smiling for what looks like a typical class picture. Nothing about it hints at the career ahead. But that child would grow up to become one of Hollywood’s most prolific performers, appearing in more than 150 film and TV projects over roughly three decades.

The surprise is that many people still wouldn’t recognize him on the street. That’s because his specialty has never been red-carpet fame. Instead, he built a career playing characters who vanish under heavy prosthetics, detailed costumes, and layers of makeup.

His credits include major genre favorites such as Batman Returns, Hocus Pocus, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Hellboy, and the Oscar-winning Pan’s Labyrinth. Tall and slender, he became a go-to choice for creature-effects teams, who could “build” characters around his distinctive frame.

A major turning point came when director Guillermo del Toro saw how much emotion he could deliver through latex and silicone. Jones brought depth to Abe Sapien in Hellboy, then played both the Faun and the terrifying Pale Man in Pan’s Labyrinth. Their collaboration later peaked with The Shape of Water (2017), where his largely wordless performance carried much of the story’s heart.

He later brought the same physical precision to TV as Commander Saru in Star Trek: Discovery. The boy in that school photo was Doug Jones—one of the most famous actors many viewers have “seen,” without ever truly recognizing.

Death Row Inmate Releases Statement As She’s Set To Become First Woman Executed By US State In Over 200 Years

Tennessee is preparing for a historic event. On September 30, 2026, the state plans to execute Christa Gail Pike. Pike, now 49, would be the first woman executed there since 1820. This marks a gap of more than two centuries.

Currently, Pike is the only woman on Tennessee’s death row. She received the death penalty for the 1995 murder of Colleen Slemmer. Pike was just 18 at the time. Prosecutors say jealousy drove the brutal crime. Pike and two friends lured the 19-year-old victim to a secluded spot in Knoxville before attacking her.

Now, after nearly 30 years in prison, Pike’s lawyers are asking for mercy. They argue she is a different person today. Her team points to severe childhood trauma and untreated mental health issues, such as PTSD. These conditions were not diagnosed until years after her trial.

In a recent statement, her defense described Pike as thoughtful and remorseful. However, the execution remains scheduled. Unless the governor grants clemency, Tennessee will move forward. This rare case has sparked a renewed debate about the death penalty and mental health.

Four-year-old boy who vanished with his black Labrador on New Year’s Eve is found dead just two miles from his father’s Alabama home

Officials in Alabama have confirmed the tragic death of four-year-old Johnathan Everett Boley. Known to his family as “John John,” the young boy vanished on New Year’s Eve. He was last seen playing outside his father’s home in Jasper with his black Labrador, Buck.

Search crews found Johnathan’s body on Friday afternoon after an intense two-day hunt. The effort involved the FBI and hundreds of volunteers. Sadly, he was discovered in a rural area just two miles from where he disappeared. In a heartbreaking twist, his dog Buck was found alive nearby. It appears the loyal dog stayed by the child’s side the entire time.

Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith described Johnathan as an adventurous boy who loved the outdoors. The child was visiting his father, Jameson Kyle Boley, for the holidays. He was supposed to return to his mother in Florida on Thursday.

During the search, police took Johnathan’s father into custody on separate charges. These charges involve chemical endangerment, but Sheriff Smith stressed that they are not related to the boy’s disappearance. As the community gathers to mourn, the investigation into the cause of death continues.

Mother, 35, went to bed on New Year’s Eve with bad flu… then woke up days later to find all four of her limbs had been amputated

Cassandra Marshall, 35, thought she had a bad flu around New Year’s. Days later, she woke up in a North Carolina hospital and learned all four of her limbs had been amputated.

Marshall, a mother of four, became ill at the end of 2023. What felt like a flu quickly turned into septic shock, a life-threatening condition that can happen when the body’s response to infection causes dangerously low blood pressure and organ failure.

Her husband called 911 after she woke up unable to breathe. She was airlifted to hospital, resuscitated twice, and placed on life support. Marshall later told local Fox affiliate WGHP that doctors said the crisis was linked to strep and the flu.

Doctors put her on an ECMO machine to support her heart and lungs. It helped her breathing recover. But she lost blood flow to her arms and legs. As a result, doctors carried out a quadruple amputation to save her life.

Marshall previously told WGHP that her legs were amputated first. She then suffered another serious medical emergency. A few days later, once she was stable, surgeons removed both of her lower arms. She said losing her arms was hardest because she could no longer hold her children.

Two years on, Marshall is adapting with one prosthetic arm. She said she no longer qualifies for Medicaid and has been denied disability four times. Friends have launched a GoFundMe to help her buy another prosthetic. She said each robotic limb costs about $19,000.

  • ‘Fictosexuality’ explained as number of people who are coming out is on the rise

‘Fictosexuality’ explained as number of people who are coming out is on the rise

As more people talk openly about “fictosexuality,” a growing number say they feel genuine romantic or sexual attraction to fictional characters.

For many, having a crush on someone from a book, movie, or game is harmless fun — like daydreaming about Mr Darcy from Pride and Prejudice or Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights. But for some, the connection runs much deeper. People who identify as fictosexual may describe intense, meaningful relationships with characters who don’t exist in the real world.

Therapist and gender expert Rebecca Minor told Cosmopolitan that fictosexuality is “a sexual orientation where someone feels drawn — emotionally, romantically, or sexually — to fictional characters, sometimes more than they do to real people.” She added that for those who identify this way, these bonds can feel real and important, not superficial or pretend.

One high-profile example is Akihiko Kondo, who has described himself as fictosexual. In 2018, he married Hatsune Miku, a virtual pop star, using a subscription device that projected her as a hologram. He said the marriage gave him a sense of stability because, in his view, Miku would never betray him or get sick and die. Reports say the process cost about $15,000.

Researcher Agnès Giard of the University of Paris Nanterre has suggested that the lack of rejection is part of the appeal, and that some people use these relationships to challenge traditional gender and social norms.

However, Kondo’s relationship later faced a real-world limit. The company behind the hologram service reportedly shut down its servers in 2025, leaving him unable to interact with Miku.
