Four-year-old boy who vanished with his black Labrador on New Year’s Eve is found dead just two miles from his father’s Alabama home

Officials in Alabama have confirmed the tragic death of four-year-old Johnathan Everett Boley. Known to his family as “John John,” the young boy vanished on New Year’s Eve. He was last seen playing outside his father’s home in Jasper with his black Labrador, Buck.

Search crews found Johnathan’s body on Friday afternoon after an intense two-day hunt. The effort involved the FBI and hundreds of volunteers. Sadly, he was discovered in a rural area just two miles from where he disappeared. In a heartbreaking twist, his dog Buck was found alive nearby. It appears the loyal dog stayed by the child’s side the entire time.

Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith described Johnathan as an adventurous boy who loved the outdoors. The child was visiting his father, Jameson Kyle Boley, for the holidays. He was supposed to return to his mother in Florida on Thursday.

During the search, police took Johnathan’s father into custody on separate charges. These charges involve chemical endangerment, but Sheriff Smith stressed that they are not related to the boy’s disappearance. As the community gathers to mourn, the investigation into the cause of death continues.

Mother, 35, went to bed on New Year’s Eve with bad flu… then woke up days later to find all four of her limbs had been amputated

Cassandra Marshall, 35, thought she had a bad flu around New Year’s. Days later, she woke up in a North Carolina hospital and learned all four of her limbs had been amputated.

Marshall, a mother of four, became ill at the end of 2023. What felt like a flu quickly turned into septic shock, a life-threatening condition that can happen when the body’s response to infection causes dangerously low blood pressure and organ failure.

Her husband called 911 after she woke up unable to breathe. She was airlifted to hospital, resuscitated twice, and placed on life support. Marshall later told local Fox affiliate WGHP that doctors said the crisis was linked to strep and the flu.

Doctors put her on an ECMO machine to support her heart and lungs. It helped her breathing recover. But she lost blood flow to her arms and legs. As a result, doctors carried out a quadruple amputation to save her life.

Marshall previously told WGHP that her legs were amputated first. She then suffered another serious medical emergency. A few days later, once she was stable, surgeons removed both of her lower arms. She said losing her arms was hardest because she could no longer hold her children.

Two years on, Marshall is adapting with one prosthetic arm. She said she no longer qualifies for Medicaid and has been denied disability four times. Friends have launched a GoFundMe to help her buy another prosthetic. She said each robotic limb costs about $19,000.

‘Fictosexuality’ explained as number of people who are coming out is on the rise

As more people talk openly about “fictosexuality,” a growing number say they feel genuine romantic or sexual attraction to fictional characters.

For many, having a crush on someone from a book, movie, or game is harmless fun — like daydreaming about Mr Darcy from Pride and Prejudice or Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights. But for some, the connection runs much deeper. People who identify as fictosexual may describe intense, meaningful relationships with characters who don’t exist in the real world.

Therapist and gender expert Rebecca Minor told Cosmopolitan that fictosexuality is “a sexual orientation where someone feels drawn — emotionally, romantically, or sexually — to fictional characters, sometimes more than they do to real people.” She added that for those who identify this way, these bonds can feel real and important, not superficial or pretend.

One high-profile example is Akihiko Kondo, who has described himself as fictosexual. In 2018, he married Hatsune Miku, a virtual pop star, using a subscription device that projected her as a hologram. He said the marriage gave him a sense of stability because, in his view, Miku would never betray him or get sick and die. Reports say the process cost about $15,000.

Researcher Agnès Giard of the University of Paris Nanterre has suggested that the lack of rejection is part of the appeal, and that some people use these relationships to challenge traditional gender and social norms.

However, Kondo’s relationship later faced a real-world limit. The company behind the hologram service reportedly shut down its servers in 2025, leaving him unable to interact with Miku.

George Clooney hits back at Donald Trump after he slammed actor over French citizenship

George Clooney has responded again after President Donald Trump renewed his criticism of the actor and his wife, Amal Clooney, in a New Year’s Eve post on Truth Social.

Trump’s latest rant focused on reports that the couple have obtained French citizenship. Clooney, 64, replied on New Year’s Day with a pointed line that flipped Trump’s own slogan. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he said he agrees the country should “make America great again” — and added: “We’ll start in November.”

The comment appeared to reference the US midterm elections in November 2026. Midterms take place halfway through a president’s term and can shift control of Congress. If Democrats win either the House or the Senate, they could slow Trump’s agenda by blocking legislation, restricting funding, and increasing oversight through hearings and investigations. That kind of outcome would likely mean a more gridlocked final two years of Trump’s second term.

So far, Republicans have advanced several priorities, including the “One, Big Beautiful Bill Act,” a sweeping budget package reported to be nearly 1,000 pages. The measure is expected to add about $3.4 trillion to the national debt over the next decade, on top of a current debt level of roughly $36.2 trillion, while also delivering tax cuts Trump promised during the 2024 campaign.

Clooney has said the move to France was also about privacy. In comments to Esquire, he explained he wanted a calmer life for his eight-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, away from intense Hollywood attention and paparazzi.

Tommy Lee Jones’ family speaks out after tragic death of daughter Victoria at 34

Tommy Lee Jones and his family have released a brief statement following the death of his daughter, Victoria Jones, who died on New Year’s Day.

Victoria, 34, was found dead at the Fairmont hotel in San Francisco at around 3:00 a.m. on January 1. Authorities say she suffered a medical emergency. In a short statement shared with People, the family thanked the public for the “kind words, thoughts, and prayers,” and asked for privacy during their time of grief.

Emergency services were called to the hotel shortly before 3:00 a.m. The San Francisco Fire Department said paramedics responded at approximately 2:52 a.m., with bystanders given CPR instructions before crews arrived. Police confirmed officers were sent to a hotel on the 900 block of Mason Street at around 3:14 a.m., where medics pronounced an adult woman dead. The medical examiner attended the scene, and an autopsy is expected to determine the cause of death. Authorities said the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Born in 1991, Victoria was the daughter of the Men in Black actor and his ex-wife, Kimberlea Cloughley. She was the younger of their two children; the couple also share a son, Austin Jones, 43.

Victoria appeared in several projects, including Men in Black II, One Tree Hill, and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada. In recent years, she stepped away from acting but continued to support her father at public events.

Trump reveals the US will now ‘run’ Venezuela in shocking announcement after capturing president

President Donald Trump says the United States will now “run” Venezuela after claiming Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was captured during a US military operation that struck Caracas early Saturday.

Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, January 3, Trump praised the US military and said the US would control the country “until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition.” He said the goal is to prevent Venezuela from falling back into the same situation it has faced for years.

Trump later posted on Truth Social confirming US involvement in the strikes. He also claimed Maduro was taken out of Venezuela вместе with his wife, Cilia Flores.

Trump said major US oil companies are ready to enter Venezuela, invest billions of dollars, and repair damaged oil infrastructure. He argued this would help Venezuela make money again.

He also warned the US is prepared to launch a second, “much larger” attack if needed. However, he suggested a follow-up may not be necessary because the first operation was “so successful.”

In an interview with Fox News, Trump said the mission was delayed because the weather was not ideal. He claimed Maduro was captured inside a house “more like a fortress,” and said a few US personnel were injured but are expected to recover. Trump also said he watched the capture happen live, comparing it to watching a television show.

Trump reveals he has ‘captured’ Venezuelan president and his wife after launching military strikes on capital

Overnight explosions shook Caracas after reports said the U.S. carried out military strikes in Venezuela. Smoke and fire were seen across the skyline as the attacks hit.

A few hours later, President Donald Trump confirmed the operation. In a Truth Social post on Saturday, January 3, he claimed Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and Maduro’s wife were captured and flown out of the country. Trump said the action was carried out with help from U.S. law enforcement. He also announced a news conference for 11 a.m. at Mar-a-Lago and promised more details.

The report says the operation was meant to remove Maduro from power. It also claims Maduro’s wife, Cilia Flores, was taken during the overnight raid.

Venezuela’s government strongly condemned the strikes. Officials said the attacks also affected the regions of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira. In a public statement, the government rejected what it called a serious act of U.S. military aggression.

Maduro, 63, became president in 2013 after Hugo Chávez died. He rose through Venezuela’s trade union movement and later took over Chávez’s political project. International critics have long accused Maduro of authoritarian rule and unfair elections.

Venezuela is rich in natural resources. It holds the world’s largest verified crude oil reserves and major mineral deposits, including lithium.

Cuba’s President Miguel Díaz-Canel condemned the U.S. action. AFP also reported that Colombia mobilized military resources near its border with Venezuela as the region waited to see what happens next.

Trump launches military strikes on Venezuela as terrifying footage shows explosions throughout capital

Tensions between the United States and Venezuela hit a breaking point early Saturday. The US launched military strikes on Caracas, the capital city. Following the attacks, President Donald Trump made a major announcement on Truth Social. He claims that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife were captured and flown out of the country.

Terrifying videos circulating online show explosions shaking the city center. Reports state that the strikes hit key locations, including the La Carlota military airfield and the Fuerte Tiuna base. This attack follows months of warnings from the Trump administration against alleged “narco-terrorists.”

Venezuela’s government immediately condemned the strikes. They called the move “serious military aggression.” Officials there believe the US actually wants to seize their oil and minerals. A national emergency is now in effect, and countries like Cuba and Colombia have spoken out against the attacks.

President Trump confirmed that he worked with US law enforcement on this operation. He plans to share more details at a press conference today at 11 A.M. at Mar-a-Lago. This escalation comes just days after Maduro said he was open to talks with the US.

Family Mourns Pregnant 19-Year-Old and Her Unborn Son Killed on Thanksgiving

A Georgia family is grieving the loss of a 19-year-old pregnant woman and her unborn son after a tragic Thanksgiving night crash. What began as a joyful holiday ended in unimaginable heartbreak for the loved ones of Jaylah Donald.

Just after midnight on November 28, Jaylah and her mother, Takila, were driving home after giving a neighbor a ride. As they backed out of a driveway onto Fairview Road, their car was hit on the passenger side by a BMW traveling west. According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety, Takila’s vehicle did not yield as it re-entered the road. The impact killed Jaylah and her unborn baby instantly.

Takila was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition. The BMW driver, Brandon Robinson, suffered minor injuries and is suspected of driving under the influence. Authorities say both drivers could face charges once the investigation is complete.

Jaylah’s family says the night had been filled with food, laughter, and holiday joy. Her grandmother remembers learning the news and feeling unable to breathe. Jaylah had recently graduated high school and planned to start college after her baby’s birth. Her father shared that he found out he would become a grandfather only hours before losing both his daughter and grandson.

Friends and family later gathered for a balloon release in Jaylah’s honor. A GoFundMe page has been created to cover funeral costs and provide support during this painful time.

The family hopes their story reminds others to value every moment—and to drive safely, especially during the holidays.
