A community in Massachusetts is mourning after a tragic incident at Meadowridge Academy left a beloved staff member dead.

More than 30 years after a brutal family slaying, Richard Kenneth Djerf, 55, has been executed in Arizona. He was put to death by lethal injection on October 17 for murdering four members of the Luna family in 1993.

At just 23, Djerf carried out the horrific attack in what prosecutors described as a revenge plot. He believed his former co-worker, Albert Luna Sr., had stolen from his apartment. Seeking retribution, Djerf broke into the Luna home in Phoenix, where he killed Albert, his wife Patricia, and their two children, Rochelle, 18, and Damien, 5. The crime included acts of torture and sexual assault that shocked the nation.

According to officials, Djerf offered no final words before his execution. His last meal was a double cheeseburger, onion rings, cherry pie, and a Pepsi. Witnesses said the procedure began at 10:05 a.m., and he was pronounced dead 35 minutes later.
