Authorities Issue Update On Shia LaBeouf Arrest As Actor ‘Terrorizes’ New Orleans

Shia LaBeouf has been arrested in New Orleans following an incident during Mardi Gras celebrations.

Police say the actor was detained in the early hours of February 17 after officers responded to reports of a disturbance at a business on Royal Street. According to court documents, a bar manager attempted to escort LaBeouf out of the establishment. During the removal, he allegedly became aggressive.

Authorities state that once outside, LaBeouf struck one man multiple times and then allegedly hit another man in the nose. Bystanders reportedly restrained him until police arrived.

He was taken to a hospital for evaluation, later discharged, and formally arrested. LaBeouf has been charged with two counts of battery. He was released the same day, and a court hearing is scheduled for March 19.

The New Orleans Police Department confirmed that the 39-year-old was accused of causing a disturbance and becoming increasingly aggressive before the altercation escalated.

LaBeouf was once one of Hollywood’s most promising young stars, known for roles in the Transformers franchise and other major films. In recent years, however, his career has been overshadowed by legal issues and public controversies.

Authorities have not released further details about what led to the incident. The case will now proceed through the court system.
