A small health problem can sometimes uncover something much bigger. Singer Barry Manilow, 82, shared a message that highlights the value of getting checked—even when you think you’re fine.
After completing a run of Christmas charity concerts in Palm Desert, Manilow said he dealt with weeks of bronchitis, followed by a relapse. Even after he felt better and returned to performing in Las Vegas, his doctor ordered an MRI as a precaution.

The scan revealed a cancerous spot on his left lung that doctors plan to remove. Manilow said it was found early, and doctors do not believe it has spread. He is undergoing tests to confirm that assessment.
Because he needs surgery and about a month to recover, some January arena dates are being rescheduled. He told fans he expects to return to the stage for his planned Valentine’s shows in February.
Manilow ended with a clear reminder: if you notice even a minor symptom, get tested. Early checks can lead to early answers—and better odds.
When was the last time you followed up on a lingering cough or breathing change with a doctor?
