Two men are in critical condition after a violent stabbing outside a barber shop in Queanbeyan, southern NSW. The attack happened in broad daylight on Crawford Street around 1:10 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025.
Police said the men, both in their 20s, were rushed to Queanbeyan Hospital with serious injuries before officers arrived. Photos from the scene show bloodstains on the footpath and a heavy police presence. Several nearby businesses, including a newsagent and Kmart, closed during the investigation.

“Early indications suggest the injured men were stabbed,” police confirmed, adding it is unclear if other weapons were involved. Detectives have established a crime scene and are appealing for witnesses or footage.
The incident has shocked the tight-knit community near the ACT border. One resident said, “I would’ve never guessed something like this could’ve happened here.” Another added, “On the surface it seems to be a very peaceful place.” Anyone with information is urged to contact Queanbeyan Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
