Texas officers say a body was found during the search for Camila Mendoza Olmos. The 19-year-old vanished in San Antonio on Christmas Eve morning.
What police know so far
First, Camila left her home in Caspian Spring just before 7 a.m. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says she wore baby blue pajama bottoms, a blue and black hoodie, and white shoes. A search team found a body in a nearby field on Tuesday afternoon. Sheriff Javier Salazar said foul play is not suspected, but a firearm was nearby.

Identity not yet confirmed
Next, officials said it is too early to confirm the body’s identity. The medical examiner will confirm the person and the cause of death. Salazar also said officers were searching for a missing firearm owned by a family member. He stressed the investigation continues.
New details from the investigation
Also, Salazar said Camila may have faced mental health struggles, including depression. He said she had expressed suicidal thoughts in the past. However, police are still checking all possibilities, including abduction. Video showed someone believed to be Camila near her car early Christmas Eve, then her car stayed behind.

Finally, several agencies helped search, including the FBI. Homeland Security also said it did not detain her. Police continue to investigate while awaiting official identification.
