Naomi Tekea Craig, a 33-year-old former music teacher from Mandurah, has pleaded guilty to 15 charges involving the sexual abuse of a student. The abuse began when the boy was just 12 years old. This case has shocked the local community and left a family in turmoil.

Evidence suggests that Craig led a double life. Her husband was reportedly unaware of the abuse and believed he was the father of her newborn baby. It was only near the end of the pregnancy that the truth about the child’s paternity was revealed.
Friends of the young victim noticed a sharp decline in his behavior during the period of abuse. Previously an active, typical student, he became troubled and obsessed with adult themes. He began posting inappropriate content on social media regarding “older girlfriends” and fatherhood.

Craig’s charges include multiple counts of sexual penetration of a child and possession of exploitation material. She now faces a potential 20-year prison sentence. Currently, she is under strict court orders that limit her contact with minors, including her own eldest son.
The matter is moving to the District Court for sentencing, with the next hearing scheduled for late March. The victim, now 13, remains the focus of community concern as he navigates the aftermath of this breach of trust.
