Boxer Georgia O’Connor dies aged 25 after claiming doctors ‘dismissed’ cancer symptoms for four months

Georgia O’Connor, a talented UK boxer and Commonwealth Youth Games gold medalist, has tragically passed away at just 25. Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and terminal cancer earlier this year, she claimed her symptoms were repeatedly dismissed by medical professionals.

“Not one doctor took me seriously,” Georgia wrote on Instagram. “They refused to scan me. They REFUSED to listen.” For 17 weeks, she endured severe pain while begging for help—only to be told it was “all in her head.” By the time doctors acted, the cancer had spread and blood clots were found in her lungs.

Despite the devastating diagnosis, Georgia continued to live with grace and strength. “I have what people consider the worst disease known to man, but I’m still able to smile, laugh and be myself,” she said. On May 9, just two weeks before her passing, she married her partner Adriano.

Tributes are pouring in from the boxing world. “A true warrior,” said Boxxer. Friend Ellie Scotney added, “Your smile and heart will live on forever.”
