Sometimes a single moment can break a community’s heart, and that is what happened in the town of Bozova. A 15-year-old apprentice named Muhammed Kendirci went to work hoping to learn a trade and build a future. Instead, a so-called “prank” by co-workers turned into a tragedy no one saw coming.
The incident happened on November 14 inside a local carpentry workshop. Muhammed was found with severe injuries and rushed to the hospital for emergency care. Doctors did everything they could, but he passed away five days later, leaving his family and neighbors in deep shock.

The turning point came when investigators revealed that the injury resulted from dangerous and reckless behavior by co-workers. Police detained one man, identified as Habip Aksoy, as the case moved forward. After an initial release, a new arrest warrant was issued, and he was taken back into custody as the investigation expanded.
Muhammed’s family struggled under the weight of their loss. His father could barely stand as relatives gathered to bury the young apprentice at Bozova Asri Cemetery. The pain felt by the Kendirci family rippled through the wider community, which mourned alongside them.

Authorities also noted that similar tragedies have happened in other countries when industrial equipment was misused. These cases highlight an alarming pattern of unsafe workplace behavior that can turn deadly when basic rules are ignored. Safety experts have urged stricter oversight and stronger protections for young workers.
As Bozova continues to grieve, investigators are working to deliver justice for Muhammed. His story is a powerful reminder that even a workplace meant for learning can become dangerous without care, respect, and responsibility.
