Brandon Blackstock, talent manager and former husband of singer Kelly Clarkson, has died at the age of 48 after a three-year battle with cancer. His family confirmed he “passed away peacefully… surrounded by family” and thanked the public for their “thoughts and prayers” during this difficult time.
Clarkson had recently postponed her Las Vegas shows to spend more time with their children, 11-year-old River Rose and 9-year-old Remington Alexander. Blackstock also had two older children, Savannah and Seth, and was a grandfather to Lake.
Blackstock and Clarkson first met in 2006, reconnected in 2012, and married in October 2013. Clarkson once said, “I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever.” She even wrote her hit song Piece by Piece about the stability he brought to her life.
The couple divorced in 2020 after seven years of marriage, finalizing it two years later. Despite their split, Clarkson had publicly acknowledged the impact Blackstock had on her life and career.
