Beth Martin, 28, from Portsmouth, suddenly fell ill just hours after arriving in Turkey with her husband Luke and their two young children. Delirious and unwell, she was rushed to hospital—but her family was quickly shut out. Luke recalls, “The last time we saw her alive was when they took her in the ambulance.”
Luke claims he was kept in the dark and later made to unknowingly sign a document confirming her death. Despite telling paramedics about Beth’s penicillin allergy, hospital staff were unaware. The next day, Turkish police accused Luke of poisoning Beth.

Back in the UK, an autopsy revealed something even more disturbing: Beth’s heart was missing. “The Turkish hospital has removed it,” the family wrote on their GoFundMe. “No explanation. No consent.”
Luke shared his pain online: “Telling my babies their mum isn’t coming home broke me.” A GoFundMe to cover costs and bring Beth “fully” home has raised over £130,000. The hospital is now under investigation for potential negligence.
