Carrie Underwood, a successful singer-songwriter, grew up in a devout Christian household that deeply influenced her life choices. One of these principles was to remain chaste until marriage. In 2007, she announced her decision to abstain from sexual intercourse until her wedding night. Three years later, she married NHL player Mike Fisher at age 27.
Underwood and Fisher met through a blind date set up by the singer’s bassist. Despite initial skepticism, they felt an immediate connection. They shared their first kiss on New Year’s Eve 2008. “Our first kiss was when the ball dropped,” Underwood revealed. Their relationship thrived despite the challenges of a long-distance relationship, strengthened by their shared faith and regular communication.
The couple faced significant challenges, including multiple miscarriages. Underwood turned to her faith during these difficult times. “You pray, and you pray, and you pray. Why is this happening?” she questioned during her struggles. Despite these hardships, they were blessed with two sons, Isaiah and Jacob.
Underwood and Fisher now live a peaceful life on a farm with their two children. They emphasize their faith and instill the same values in their kids. Underwood said, “Mike and I talk about teaching him how to approach everybody in a loving way.” Despite the challenges, their strong faith and commitment to each other and their family have guided them through.
