Celebrity hairstylist Graham Nation passed away suddenly at 39 on February 14 at a gym in Los Angeles. The cause of death remains under investigation. Just days before, Nation had celebrated a major career milestone, styling Catherine O’Hara for a Super Bowl commercial. “My first ever Super Bowl commercial! What an absolute blast to work on,” he shared on Instagram.
Nation built an impressive career working with celebrities such as Demi Moore, Simone Ashley, Venus Williams, and Jared Leto. His work appeared in top publications, including British Vogue, Elle, and InStyle. He was also an educator and brand ambassador for SexyHair and Fekkai. Behind the Chair mourned his loss, saying, “Graham was a one-of-a-kind soul who impacted every single person he met.”
Beyond his career, Nation leaves behind his partner, Tonya Brewer, and their six-month-old son, Romeo West. “We made a baby,” Brewer joyfully announced in May 2024. Friends have launched a GoFundMe to support Brewer and Romeo, stating, “Graham’s passing came completely unexpected. The family is left bereft and bewildered.”
Nation’s friends remember him for his talent, kindness, and dedication to family. “As Graham continues to be a ray of light and inspiration, we will continue to keep his legacy alive for his son Romeo.”
