Tragic Loss
Millena Brandão, 11, known for her role in the Netflix series Sintonia, died on May 2 after suffering multiple cardiac arrests. Her family shared an emotional tribute: “You were a light in our life… I will love you forever.”
Medical Concerns and Misdiagnosis
Her mother, Thays Brandão, revealed Millena was initially diagnosed with dengue fever, but later tests pointed to a urinary tract infection. Despite antibiotics, her condition worsened. “She had 13 arrests in total,” Thays said. “There was one day when she had seven respiratory arrests.”

Hospital Transfers and Unanswered Questions
Millena was moved to multiple hospitals. At Granjaú General Hospital, doctors found a 5 cm mass in her brain. “They don’t know if it was a tumor, cyst, edema, or clot,” said Thays. A biopsy will now determine what it was.
Official Responses
Hospitals involved expressed “regret” and stated they followed proper protocols. Grajaú Hospital said the family was kept “informed with respect” and received full support during this difficult time.
Her exact cause of death remains unknown.
