New details have emerged from the tragic Air India crash that killed 260 people, including a disturbing final exchange between the pilots. Just seconds before the June 12 crash, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner lost all engine power shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad.
Cockpit voice recordings revealed one pilot asking, “Why did you cutoff?” The other replied, “I did not do so.” Investigators found that both fuel cutoff switches were flipped within one second, shutting down both engines mid-air.

The jet, carrying 242 people, crashed into a nearby medical college hostel, killing 19 more on the ground. Only one passenger, 40-year-old British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, survived the disaster.
The report confirmed the aircraft had over 54,000kg of fuel—well within safe limits—and described how a fire broke out after the plane struck five buildings. Data from flight recorders showed efforts were made to restart the engines, but it was too late.
The crash remains under investigation, with more answers expected in the coming months.
