Spanish matador Iván Fandiño Barros, 36, tragically died after being gored by a bull during a festival in Aire-sur-l’Adour, France. Known for confronting the most dangerous bulls, Fandiño fatally tripped on his cloak, fell, and was gored in the chest. His final words were heartbreaking: “Hurry up, I’m dying.”
Witnesses watched in horror as the bull punctured his lung. Despite efforts to save him, Fandiño’s heart stopped en route to the hospital.

Fandiño’s death reignited debates about bullfighting, a controversial tradition still legal in parts of Spain and France. Humane Society International stated, “Bloodsports like this should be consigned to the history books.”
His death mirrored that of matador Victor Barrio Hernanz, who was killed by a bull a year earlier. Fandiño leaves behind a wife and daughter, remembered for his fearless spirit in the ring.
