Chrissy Metz has spoken openly about her health journey and her “very complicated feelings” toward weight loss drugs. The This Is Us star, 44, clarified that while she has lost weight, her focus is on living a long, healthy life.
“If you’re diabetic, medicines like GLP-1s are important,” she explained. “But if you’ve battled eating disorders, they can be dangerous.” She admitted that if she ever chooses to use them, it will be a personal decision.

Metz also reflected on her father’s tragic death after gastric bypass surgery. “I don’t want that to be me,” she said, adding that her health journey is about avoiding the same fate.
Today, she strength-trains, meal-preps with her partner, and practices intuitive eating. “I want to be health-positive. Skinniness doesn’t equal happiness,” she insisted. Her message is clear: true health comes from balance, strength, and self-kindness.
In her own words: “If everyone deserves happiness, that must mean I do too.”
